The Client
Finastra is the third largest Fintech company in the world. They build and deploy innovative, next-generation technology on their open Fusion software architecture and cloud ecosystem.
LT Smart was approached by a 3rd party on behalf of Finastra to provide privacy on-demand to their new and existing offices and to improve the environment so their people can thrive. They also had external glass walls that oversee the nearby busy road in Paddington and branded glass walls across the building.

The challenge and the solution
The best solution for the client was to apply Smart film on the existing glass walls. We have covered several meeting rooms, side offices and external glass walls across the floors.
The application of the film was on clear and already branded glass. The meeting rooms and side office had elegantly branded glass partitions that were easily covered with Smart film while the branding remained as visible as before. Most notable is the film application on a curved glass, it leaves no air-bubbles and looks as great as regular/straight glass.
Smart film is also great for external windows and is safely applied on the Inside part of the outside windows/walls. Light transmission is reduced by 25% when the film is switched off in its opaque state. That means the internal lighting is not affected when the glass is switched on/off throughout the day. That solution gives privacy but still allows daylight to come through and we agreed with client to cover the outside glass walls.
How Smart Film application works? Using a lamination process, that encapsulates a PDLC film between 2 or more glass sheets. A total of 100m² Smart Film were applied, 10m² of which are curved panels.
